History has many different issues on how the performance of different historical events happened. Everyone tells history on at least a slight bias to their side or origin. Obviously they can't change the story completely, like British can't say that North America is under their control, but they can say that we fought very unfairly, whereas we say we fought strategically. We can get a better understanding on how events really occurred by drawing conclusions from multiple sources of all sides of the historical conflict.
I feel that what you are saying really lends itself to a larger question, which is the main question proposed in TOK. This question being, how do we know what we know?
